The first thing to say about Joan Jordi Oliver is that he was one of my friends in Zaragoza, during our the Bachelor studies. The second thing is that our ideas soon matched and he was involved in many of my projects, as well as he encouraged me several times to write pieces for him. I don’t want to miss any but: m tty o, Talking to g. braque, There is a chair, Untitled shapes, They are not talking about us,… so so many. And currently he commissioned me another piece for Mezzo-soprano and Saxophone!
Joan Jordi is not only a brilliant saxophonist player. He always looks for more. He is the one to ask for a crazy collaboration. And I am glad to say that my friend JJ won the 1st Prize in the ZHdK Contemporary solo Music Competition.
By the way the performed my piece “Untitled Shapes” in Zurich last 7th of April and also in Mallorca, during the Saxophone festival, the 11th.
