Today, I want to talk about composing and working in collaboration with other artists. In my short career I have taken part to many collaborations with other composers, such us “Resucita Loto” or “Noche Oscura” (multi-composer works), and also with other kind of artists (writers, painters,..). One of the bests collaborations I made was in the work “Untitled Shapes”, for Soprano Saxophone solo and video. This “4-composer” work was made by Alba Font and Martí Llavina (media designers), Joan Jordi Oliver (trans-saxophonist) and me. It was an experience that really made learn how to made a coherent idea from four different minds; together we discussed every tiny detail of the piece.
“Untitled Shapes” was premiered in Wien last May, and also performed in Campos (Mallorca) and in Radical dB Festival (Zaragoza). Here I give you some pictures, I hope the video recording will be available soon.
Today I realized that one year ago, the 19th of January of 2015, I conducted the premiere of “groc i boira finestra”. That concert really touched me due to it was the last premiere I conducted in Csma. I want to say thank you again to my friends Sandra Lanuza (piano), Marta Gómez (flute) and Carolina Uriz (viola); it was a pleasure to work with you.
Here is the audio recording:
This Christmas I have been working as conductor and composer in the folk-catalan theatre play “Els pastorets”. I made the music of the whole play and conducted an orchestra of young musicians. It was a good experience to be part of the whole theatre family and to add some new ideas to that classical theatre play.
I hope 2016 brings you luck, health and good music.
one foggy and beautiful day from my hometown, Tona (Barcelona)
(After some quiet days) Yesterday I sang with the vocal quartet “Scuola de l’Anima” in an event to collect money for the Syrian refugees. It was an honor to make music for this cause.
Here is the review from the premiere of “They are not talking about us” in Zaragoza’s main Concert hall. My piece has played together with Kurt Weill’s violin concerto and a Wind Symphony by Barnes-Chance.
I have no words to describe the feeling I had yesterday. The only thing I can do is thank all the players their great effort to make such a fantastic performance.
Today here we go with the second performance!
